Lattice crane
Future evolutions

Crane would be more beautiful if could be on a crawler crane. To respect scale, a simple Lego chain isn't enough. It's too thin. Solution is to double it, and join them with 1x6 plates. I did estimate I need not less than 2m80 of chain link to make a 30cm long crawler carrier.
I've bought them in june, and I'll start soon to work on it.
Superlift + boom extensionThrough lack of parts, I bought two sets of parts and I'm waiting for them. As soon as I'll receive them I'll extend boom size and construct a superlift. I think I can easily reach 3m50. But before I have to change some design details : a modular conception is interesting but it create some bit of play, and structure shocks during lifts. One or two degrees of play at bottom of boom carry off course 10 cm head of jib.
Superstructure
fixing.Superstructure is locked on carrier with Lego turntable. (see
Superstructure)
As this part is opened in the middle, it's possible to increas
its resistance by using a threaded axle. Then the turntable is
pre-constraint in charge.
I haven't yet took time to redesign carrier cabin, to be more model-like, but I'm thinking about it !
Outriggers are a bit thin to support crane weight, during lifting. I should add a beam line under each one.
Decoration finitionI'm thinking about the way to realise stickers, little accessories and so on, to improve general model look. It take lot of time, isn't very useful, but is the final touch.
I've already made, when I was 12, a telescopic boom, whith two adjustable elements. I'm thinking of the way to manage a 3 multistage elements.
I'd like to present the crane in a specialized trade show (lifting and heavy haulage). And getting some contacts with others people who like models.
